Reblog: Instructional Design Challenges for Today’s Course Designer

This is a reblog of a post from the Rapid E-Learning blog. Click the link below to read the original post.

Tom at the Rapid E-Learning Blog reviews what instructional design is and what a designer does but admits, and illustrates, that despite our meddling people can and do learn without us. The point is to create smaller pieces of learning, which he calls coursels (course+morsel), for just in time learning. These ideas are not new; they are, however, an important reminder that our learners can find out anything they want at a few taps of the keys. Our job is to help clarify information and point them quickly in the direction of their immediate, as well as long term, learning needs.
